Obtaining A Real Estate Salesperson License

Individuals who wish to obtain a Pennsylvania State Real Estate Salesperson License must:

Be at least 18 years of age

Have a high school diploma or equivalent

Successfully complete 75 hours of education

Pass the State and National Salesperson Licensing Exams

The 75 hours of Pre-Licensing education are made of up two classes:

Real Estate Fundamentals

Real Estate Fundamentals is a 30-hour course that reviews basic terminology, principles and laws that govern a real estate business.

Real Estate Practice

Real Estate Practice is a 45-hour course that provides an understanding of the ethical guidelines, basic procedural and regulatory practices, techniques, and ancillary real estate services.

Students must pass both course exams and attend 80% of the 75 hours of pre-licensing education to receive their education transcripts and/or certificate of completion.

To learn more about our preferred real estate school, check out our Education Options Page or visit the Real Estate Business Academy to sign up for in-class or online real estate pre-licensing education.

After completing the 75 hours of Real Estate Pre-Licensing education, the student must take the administered State and National Real Estate Salesperson Licensing exams utilizing the Pearson Vue testing service.

To schedule the exams, the student must create a basic profile on the Pearson Vue website. Once the profile is created, the student must apply for each exam they are attempting to schedule. The student's pre-licensing education transcripts and/or certificate of completion must be uploaded with the application.

If you're ready to schedule your PA Real Estate Salesperson Licensing exams, go to the Pearson Vue website. If you need additional guidance, our Career Services Team would be happy to meet with you at our office and walk through the process together.

To get a Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson License, the candidate must be "sponsored" by, or affiliated with, a real estate brokerage or company. Understanding what a brokerage offers its affiliates is a critical next step for those looking to begin a career in real estate.

We encourage candidates to advocate for themselves by meeting with different brokerages to find the best fit for their business and career goals. Once the candidate finds the right brokerage, they submit their application through PALS (Pennsylvania Licensing System) which requires the broker's signature for approval.

Interviewing different companies can be exhausting...

When you meet CENTURY 21 Home Advisors, we'll provide information on the next steps, the industry programs and costs, and dive into the details of what comes next.

Once you've made your selection to become a Relentless CENTURY 21 Home Advisors Agent, we will walk through the license application submission together.

The first step would be to create a profile on the PALS (Pennsylvania Licensing System) website using this link.

Several documents will need to be submitted with your license application. One of which, is a Criminal History Background Check.

To obtain your criminal history check, go to the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History site here. When entering your information, be sure to enter your social security number or equivalent as this is a requirement of the real estate commission.

Once you complete the submission process and make payment, you will receive an email with a Certificate Form that is proof of your criminal history.

The following documents will need to be uploaded for the PA Real Estate Salesperson license application.

Real Estate Pre-Licensing Transcripts and/or Certificate of Completion from an Approved Education Provider.

Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson State and National Exam pass results.

Criminal History Background Check: run within 90 days of submitting the license application.

We will walk through every step of submitting the documents and making payment together so, don't worry. We got you covered!

It's not easy knowing the next right step when you're starting a new career, so we walk every soon-to-be agent through the entire process.

Our guidance starts with helping you understand the licensing process and costs, picking the right school, preparing for the licensing exams, sponsoring your license application, providing one-on-one mentoring and hands-on training from the very beginning, and more...
